Inspiration
Pets are my favorite people so when a friend asked me to paint her furry friends I did, and found that I really enjoyed capturing their individual personalities in paint. It warms my heart to see the overwhelming joy my paintings bring to pet owners when they receive their portrait and exclaim "I can't believe how you captured her/his spirit!". Bright, fun and expressive are other words that have been used to describe my work. I look forward to capturing your, or a valued friend or family member’s, pet's heart and spreading the joy.
I have been painting and drawing nearly my entire life. When the time came to choose a career, I chose graphic design and illustration so that I could do something I loved. However the demands of my career did not allow me much time to paint and fifteen years ago I found a school in Washington DC where I could get back to what I truly love. I'm passionate about painting the figure, but discovered that painting animals brings out my creative spirit as well. My constant companion, Mona, has fueled my inspiration and love of pets through her delightful antics and calming presence. There’s something about those quirky, lovable pets, that unconditional love and loyal companionship that inspires me to capture their personalities in paint to no end.
